Samples

Although we make every effort to depict our mineral cosmetic shades accurately, variations in the way computer monitors display colours will affect how our shades appear to you online.

Our mineral cosmetic sample packs are a great way to find your favourite shades and textures. Samples of our colour cosmetics come in small, resealable bags.  

Our skin care ingredients are less likely than the irritants in mainstream cosmetics to trigger skin sensitivities, but some people are sensitive or allergic to natural substances. Some of our products are available for purchase in trial sizes and we recommend these especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies. When your order arrives, apply a little on a small area of skin and wait 24 hours to see whether the product is compatible with you.

Lead Times

Everything we offer is handcrafted and we make many items fresh to order, so please allow up to five business days for us to prepare your order.

Local Orders

We are located in the Forest Hills area of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Though we're not open to walk-in traffic, if you're a local customer, you are welcome to make arrangements in advance to drop by, pick up an order and pay by cash. Please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca and let us know what you'd like to purchase so we can prepare your order and arrange a time for pick up. 

Online Ordering

You can place your order through our Web site if you are paying by Visa, Master Card or American Express or if you have a PayPal account.

If you would like to pay by money order or certified cheque, please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca for details. Please remember that e-mail is not secure. We urge you not to send personal or credit card information by e-mail.

Paying for Orders

The prices on our Web site are in Canadian dollars and do not include shipping charges. Estimated shipping and handling costs will be reflected in the total cost for your order when you make payment. We'll let you know if we need to adjust your shipping fee before we fill your order. 

We process all payments for online orders through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your order with your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card using this free service. PayPal uses SSL (secure socket layer) encryption to protect your personal and payment information from being intercepted. Your payment information is not shared with us. We simply receive a confirmation that your payment has been processed.

If you would like to pay by money order or certified cheque, we will hold your order until your payment has reached us, and funds have cleared. Please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca for details.

Shipping

We generally ship via Canada Post XpressPost within Canada (delivery standard of 1-3 days regional, 2-7 days national) and Expedited Parcel to the US (ground service with transit time of about 8-12 business days) with insurance and a delivery confirmation number. The estimated cost of shipping and handling will be reflected in the total cost for your order as you are making payment via PayPal. We will advise you by e-mail if we need to adjust your shipping fee before filling your order. 

US and international customers, if you'd like your package to fly, we will happily send it via XpressPost for approximately $10 more, with a transit time of about 5-7 business days between major centres. If you would prefer XpressPost, please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca and we will send you a request for the additional funds via PayPal.    

US and other international orders may incur additional charges for tax or border fees.

Privacy

We will not sell or rent your personal information, or share it with other parties, under any circumstances. We will contact you by e-mail or telephone only if we have a question or information for you concerning an order. We collect your address only for the purposes of shipping your order.

Changes and Cancellations

We will do our best to accommodate changes and additions prior to shipping. Should you wish to change or cancel your order, please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca. Please include your full name, order number, telephone number and e-mail address.

Returns

For reasons related to hygiene, returns are limited to unopened incorrect or damaged merchandise. Please check out our economical samples to find your favourite shades and ensure your choices are compatible with you before committing to full sizes. 

Your business is important to us. If, for any reason, you are not delighted with your purchase, please e-mail us at contact@cosmictree.ca within 30 days of purchase to let us know and include your full name and order number. We’ll do our best to make it right. 

Damaged Merchandise

In the unlikely event that the contents of your package are damaged, please hold on to the box and contents because we may need them for the insurance claim.
